Close calls
Have you seen that show Monk? If you haven't and like detective shows then maybe check it out. Anyway he has a great many phobias, 38 I believe, a few are Milk, Mushrooms and bullies. His fears are crippling to him, but mine on the other hand are not.
Everyday or so I have to deal with the many, many, many, many, things that can kill a person.
- Toothpaste
- Carpets+door knobs
- Walls
- Things that are behind me
- Driving
- Cars
- Airplanes flying over head
- Forks
- Snakes
All of those things can kill you on a daily, hourly, and minute by minute basis. Well most of the time I try not to think to hard on whether or not my toothpaste has been filled with acid or if a snake finally slipped into my shoe, but sometimes I have to check things out pretty throughly, like if someone is behind the shower curtain, before I can do anything. I just have to hope I don't turn into some one like Monk.
Out with the old
In my long long life of 24 years I have moved around 19 times, all within the town of Santa Rosa. Now that is a lot of moving, and in all that moving I have developed a habit, I guess you can call it that, of getting rid of stuff once I don't need any more. Well its not the best way to do things because its just wasteful, and you could need it again. So many times I have said to myself "it would be great if I had that thing again". Well too bad for me, since I would have to buy it again and if i got rid of it in the first place it couldn't of been that important.
Well my girlfriend has been with me for almost 3 years and has moved 3 times....yeah my fault, but having lived in once place for 22 year she has been able to keep pretty much everything she has EVER had. Now that is a lot of stuff. I am not saying its a bad thing. I would totally love to be able to go into a closet and pull out my old action figures (ninja turtles mostly). This is where i lose track of my thoughts becasue i am thinking of ninja turtles. Ummm, yeah but there is point where you just have way to much stuff. I hope that in our years to come then we can find a balance between pack rat and nomad.
